Management for profitability is the theme of the eighth bootcamp of the BRDE Labs Program

On October 8, the BRDE Labs Program held its eighth Bootcamp. This time, the theme was “Management for Profitability”. The online chat was conducted by the professor at Unisinos and partner at ABC Negócios, Diego Marconatto.

Marconatto, who is the author of the publication “O Livro do Lucro”, what would be The book of profit in English, uses his research and experience to demystify some rules of financial success and help entrepreneurs achieve “a positive, growing and predictable cash flow”. He points out the importance of study and experience for start-up professionals, as well as showing that the main skills required of such businesses are: knowing how to read the market and developing a “scalable, repetitive and profitable” business model. For Marconatto, even startups with very solid technologies may not reach their potential if they do not have a commercial focus.

According to Marconatto, every business is based on 5 main pillars: Products and Services, Money, Profit, People, and Investments. “The way in which each company arranges these pillars and manages them is fundamental to the success of each initiative”. In addition to discussing how each of these aspects of the business should be worked on, Marconatto points out that every business needs to play three main roles: the executor, the entrepreneur, and the manager. Through these functions, the startup needs to align the customer, the product, and the business.

At the end of the bootcamp, a chat was held so that everyone could clarify doubts, discuss important matters regarding management for profitability and be able to hear a little more about the subject from the professor’s perspective.

The bootcamp was attended by the 12 startups selected for the acceleration stage of the BRDE Labs Program: 2Metric, Agência Besouro, BioIn, DigiFarmz, Elysios, Essent Agro, Faba, Insumo Fácil, Palma Sistemas, Polvo Spot, Optim and Talos, as well as representatives of BRDE, VENTIUR,  and from the three universities that are part of the Alliance for Innovation – UFRGS, PUCRS, and Unisinos University.
