This Wednesday, October 28, happens the launch of Go.GlobalX, an acceleration program that aims to develop innovative business ideas with potential for global impact. The initiative is a partnership between SEBRAE, Unicred, and the three Universities that constitute the Alliance for Innovation: Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS), and Unisinos University, through its Technology Parks. Potential entrepreneurs, entrepreneurs, and researchers with an idea that fits the program will be able to register at http://bit.ly/GoGlobalx. Up to 80 business ideas will be selected. During the program, the teams will have access to mentoring with professionals linked to the partners of the innovation ecosystems and guests, both in Brazil and abroad. The teams will also be able to use spaces and services provided by the program partners to assist in the development of their projects.

The director-superintendent of Sebrae RS, André Vanoni de Godoy, highlights the unprecedented nature of the action, which integrates the three main universities in Rio Grande do Sul, Unicred, and Sebrae RS, converging forces in a unique business acceleration strategy. “We will support the research, development, and technology of small companies at an early stage, but with potential for global reach. At this moment, when we face the most challenging crisis since the Second World War, it is essential to join forces, taking advantage of the know-how each one has, to contribute with entrepreneurs and companies that are visualizing and taking advantage of opportunities that arise in the midst of adversity”.

For the Director of Products and Technology at Unicred do Brasil, Luis Schuler, Go.GlobalX encourages and reconciles innovation and entrepreneurship in an exponential way, as it transcends the boundaries of performance of the partners involved, using the excellence of each to enhance the project. “Unicred has always been driven by innovation and cooperative principles, that, allied to the technological parks of renowned educational institutions, and added SEBRAE’s role in the theme of entrepreneurship, we are sure that there is enormous potential for great results with the Go.GlobalX project. Yes, we can achieve a global scale ”, he points out.

Member of the Strategic Committee of the Alliance for Innovation, which unites UFRGS, Unisinos Univerity, and PUCRS in actions in the area of ​​Innovation, Jorge Audy points out that Go.GlobalX is a daring project that aims to prepare and enable small and medium-sized companies to operate on globally competitive markets, expanding the horizons of growth and the generation of results for startups in the regional innovation ecosystem. “As a result, the Universities of the Alliance, also protagonists of the Porto Alegre Pact for Innovation, in an important partnership with SEBRAE and support from Unicred, contribute to the strengthening of our ecosystem, focusing on global markets, activating new businesses and generating wealth in our state”, adds Audy.

According to the director of the Zenit Park at UFRGS, Roberta Bussamara, the project aims to boost business, acting as a catalyst in the transformation of scientific knowledge into global businesses. There is a multitude of innovation opportunities to be discovered and developed. “We aim to contribute to Brazilian society in boosting innovative ideas, training human resources with an entrepreneurial culture, integration between science and entrepreneurship as well as the creation of new economic and social opportunities in areas not yet fully served or emerging in the markets global ”, he highlights.

According to the Business and Relationship Manager of the Scientific and Technological Park of PUCRS (Tecnopuc), Rafael Prikladnicki, this articulated project between the three parks, SEBRAE and Unicred aims to develop startups on a global scale. “Brazil produces a lot of knowledge with the potential to be transformed into wealth. We are bringing together the accumulated experience of our institutions to do so on a global scale. It is a unique arrangement to contribute to the social and economic development of our country ”.

For the director of the São Leopoldo Technological Park – Tecnosinos, Susana Kakuta, Go.GlobalX is innovative, especially in two aspects: firstly because it brings together the unique knowledge system accumulated in our institutions on how to foster innovation entrepreneurship; second because it accelerates, through a different set of instruments, the existence of startups that are born with a global focus of activity. “We are contributing to having a more qualified GDP formation, which results in an improvement in the quality of life for Brazilians”, she states.

How will the selection work?

For the selection process, the ideas will be evaluated by a technical committee, composed of professionals from the partners involved in the program and invited experts, all with technical and/or business knowledge. The judgment of the projects will be carried out taking into account the fulfillment of the program objective, complete and adequate filling of the indicated form, and aspects related to the team, market, innovative potential, and registration video.
